A. MillerMr. Miller joined Lilly in 1983 after completing his MBA at the University of California at Berkeley. He also holds a B.S. and an M.S. in biology from Eastern Michigan University. He has held numerous positions in marketing, sales, and business planning. In 1993, he was named Managing Director of Operations for Lilly's Nordic countries. Before joining Corporate Business Development in 1998, he was General Manager of the Lilly Ranbaxy joint venture in generic pharmaceuticals.
Mr. Miller heads up a team of business development professionals responsible for all corporate licensing activities with companies located in Europe and the Eastern half of North America. His team is involved in all aspects of licensing from identification of opportunities, through forecasting and valuation, to terms negotiations and contracting. The licensing activities of his team cuts across opportunities in any and all therapeutic areas.
During the last several years in Corporate Business Development, Mr. Miller has negotiated several of Lilly's most significant collaborations including the U.S. co-promotion for Cymbalta with Quintiles, the global development and commercialization partnership for Duloxetine with Boehringer-Ingelheim, and the in-license of a Phase II compound for insomnia from Merck KGaA.
